I would like the camera to not move, when playing the video. I want to choose the map section that is displayed and it stays that way for the whole clip, while only the path on the map progresses.
This has now been added and is ready to be tested :)

Do you want to just have an overview effect where the camera is fixed on the calculated center of the map
Is this for the whole duration of the video or should this be a setting for each section with a transition to the next part?
Any other ideas? :)
I’m trying to see what makes the most sense and how it could be implemented so the more detailed the better I can weigh if this is done easily or not.

Yes I would like a fixed overview where I can choose how zoomed in we are on the map. Maybe it doesn’t have to be the calculated centerpoint tho? So for my example I wanted to show the whole of New Zealand in that case the fixed centerpoint would suffice. But I could see a usecase in which you want to show a specific part of a trail only, for that it would be useful to choose the part of the map that’s fixed and then the trail is going through the part of the map that is shown.
For the second question: for my purpose it would be enough to just have this setting on the whole video clip, but for it to be more versatile it would be nice to be able to choose for every section and then we could choose a zoom in or zoom out transition to move between sections.
Speaking of this, it could be interesting to have this move in/out transition during a clip as well. So for example if I upload a gpx file and the video starts with a track overview but then I want to highlight a section by zooming in and then return to the overview by zooming out again, all the while the path continues to appear on the map. I haven’t worked with different sections yet but as I understand it I would have to upload different gpx files in order to achieve something like this and even then the path would always start to appear anew and there wouldn’t be a complete trail overview in the end (might be wrong on that tho.)
Thank you for looking into this, it would be awesome if you can program some (or all) of it.
